How to Practice Rhythm vs. Beat

Hello, Music Makers!

It has been a great week working on the difference between rhythm and beat. Today I'm just popping in to share a quick way for your child to practice this skill.

Directions:

  1. Review the rhymes we have done this week. ** Find them here and here**

  2. Print off the worksheet.

  3. With the worksheet in front of you, speak the words to each rhyme out loud.

  4. Ask your child if the pictures below the words match the rhythm or the beat. Have him circle his answer.

This worksheet is free as a part of my Sheet Music Library

That's it!

It's such a simple way to practice a very important skill. Let me know how it goes!

Have a musical day,

- Victoria
